Wasting Water is Weird Campaign

We just learned about the new Wasting Water is Weird campaign and we think you should check it out.

The EPA’s WaterSense program developed a new character who brings comedic light to water conservation, which is a refreshing break from campaigns using guilt to motivate environmentally conscious behavior. Watch “Rip the Drip” in action:

The creative brains behind this campaign found that about two-thirds of the population care about water conservation, but only about one-third do anything about it.*

Of course we hope the Wasting Water is Weird campaign sticks with people and reminds them turn off the hose when washing the car, only run the dishwasher when full, and shut off the faucet when brushing their teeth. Just remember, the little things add up to make a big difference. So if the altruistic motivation of saving the earth isn’t enough, perhaps peer pressure will do the trick. You don’t want to be weird, do you?
